Full-Time Administrative Assistant

Good News Communications, Inc. has an opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant.  A successful candidate will have prior secretarial experience and will be proficient with Microsoft Office – specifically Word, Excel and Publisher.  This very busy office requires an individual with great attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multitask.  If you thrive on high energy in a fast paced environment, then you will make a great team member!

Duties & Responsibilities:

-Answer and direct all incoming calls
-Retrieve & distribute incoming mail
-Process outgoing mail & take to post office each day
-Great visitors in a warm and professional manner
-Prepare daily radio logs for two stations
-Assist sales department with printed materials


-Computer proficiency and experienced using Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher
-Have prior office work experience
-Have great organizational and problem solving skills

General Skills:

-Must be dependable and be able to problem solve independently
-Must be able to pay attention to details and work on tight deadlines
-Must have good communication skills
-Must be able to lift 30 lbs

Part-Time Board Operator

Good News Communications is looking for a Part-Time Board operator for KGMS. KGMS is a Christian Talk Radio Station offering both local and national shows discussing Christian values and Christian living. The board operator performs duties related to running an audio board and automation system for live talk shows and pre-recorded content. This position will be responsible for a regular Saturday shift and some work on the weekdays equaling about 8 hours a week plus occasional hours to fill in another shift.

Duties & Responsibilities:
-Running live call-in shows.
-Basic audio editing in Adobe Audition 3.0.
-Loading programs into automation system.
-Verifying the radio log.
-Downloading programs from ftp site or other methods.
-Overseeing programming on the station.
-Transmitter Meter Readings.
-Operation of EAS equipment.
-Basic troubleshooting of issues related to audio and automation problems.

-Other duties as assigned.
-Computer proficiency and ability to use Windows systems and programs.

-Able to fill in as needed.
-Voice work experience not required, but is a plus.
General skills:
-Must be dependable and able to work and problem-solve independently.
-Must be able to pay attention to details and be organized.
-Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
